About Me
Hello there friend! My name is Amanda Epperson and I am a senior at Blue Valley High School. In the afternoon, I am apart of the CAPS Teacher Education program where I get the opportunity to work with teachers from local schools and engage in community projects. Outside of school, I am a director for the SOAR Special Needs Ministry at Grace Church. Next year, I plan to attend Kansas State University and major in Elementary Special Education. I am passionate about empowering students to grow in their academic and interpersonal skills by building intentional relationships with students.
Work Experience
2015 - 2017
I tutored math for grades 7-9 for a variety of students with different learning styles.
June 2018 - August 2018
I worked as a Teacher's Aide at Emma's Place for Exceptional Children the summer of 2018. Emma's Place provided summer care for students with specials needs. I assisted lead teachers by guiding students and helping with transitions and behaviors.

At the Center for Advanced Professional Studies, I study with the Teacher Education class to learn how to become an innovative and intentional teacher someday. I have observed and taught lessons in general and Special Education classrooms, both elementary and secondary classrooms.

I am Crisis Prevention Institute certified through Grace Church instructors. This training helps me know how to safely manage behaviors of individuals with special needs.
